Jada Pinkett-Smith Returning To ‘Gotham’ As Fish Mooney

Jada Pinkett Smith will return as Fish Mooney for a multi-episode arc this season, TVLine reports.

We last saw Fish Mooney at the end of Season 1, when the Penguin threw her off of the roof of a warehouse into the ocean below.

Gotham returns for the back half of its second season on February 29. Ask all the white male characters on the show who are intimidated or threatened by Fish Mooney and her presence.

Jada Pinkett Smith is the lady in red while making her way out of LAX Airport on Thursday (January 28) in Los Angeles.

Following that revelation, there was a groundswell of support for her character to return for season 2, which might have partly influenced Fox to bring her back. However, details about how and why Fish returns to the city is still a secret, but it’s likely that return will cause a lot of problems for Penguin, who is responsible for her death (or non-death, in this case). Still, as showrunner Bruno Heller told the site previous year, “I would definitely not assume anything in a town like Gotham”. At the time though, it wasn’t revealed if “Gotham” meant to followup on the Easter egg.

Well, now we know that Fish will be back and there’s going to be trouble.

I always figured that this was a strong possibility, given the ambiguity of her “death”. “She’s a criminal. She chose to be a criminal, instead of a doctor”.
