Clinton attacks Sanders on foreign policy experience
Endorsements in the Democratic presidential primary race are seemingly following a pattern: Every major union or progressive group that let its members vote has endorsed Vermont Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, a former governor, and her firepower will be on display this weekend in Iowa, with Senate Democrats like Kaine, Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kirsten Gillibrand of NY rallying supporters on her behalf. Ted Cruz, his main competitor, are also striking at each other like there is no tomorrow. He leads Clinton in polling in the next state to vote, Vermont neighbor New Hampshire, on February 9.
And on the critical issue of trust, Sanders has almost a 15-point advantage over the former first lady.
Sanders leads Clinton 58 percent to 32 percent in the north and west regions.
In a Democratic primary that appears to be tightening, Clinton has sieged on her experience as someone who has a deep understanding of the nuances of foreign policy from her time as the country’s top diplomat.
The Media Matters chief said on Bloomberg TV’s “With all Due Respect”, that Sanders has “got a 30 year history of affiliation with a lot of whack-doodle ideas and parties”. Now he has a new plan.
SIEGEL: So the whole soundtrack – all we’re hearing is the song. We need to get incomes rising again.
Those polled were asked to evaluate the Republican candidate who would best handle issues such as the economy, illegal immigration, foreign policy and social issues such as abortion and same sex-marriage. “He later was forced to apologize for his lies about her”, said Sanders spokesman Michael Briggs.
Sanders’ name came up throughout the speech, which amounted to the more forceful and direct contrast Clinton has been drawing with Sanders.
More aggressive Ms Clinton’s more aggressive stance towards her rival, who she barely mentioned at campaign events even two weeks ago, coincided with a CNN/ORC poll that put his support at 51 per cent among likely Democratic voters in Iowa, to her at 43 per cent.
Bill Clinton, according to a source with firsthand knowledge of the situation, has been phoning campaign manager Robby Mook nearly daily to express concerns about the campaign’s organization in the March voting states, which includes delegate bonanzas in Florida, Illinois, Ohio and Texas. Sanders has also been emphasizing his eagerness to reduce income inequality, increase the minimum wage and take on big corporate interests, as he argues that he would be more aggressive and reliable in pushing for those goals than Clinton would be.
Republicans promote Sanders: Sanders isn’t the only one who’s touting his rise in polls.
An attendee holds a sign as Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Whether it’s death by being shot or poisoning doesn’t really matter. But it – I think it’s only going to be very limited shelf life. Its circulation is way down w its influence being at an all time low.
