Officer Involved Shooting Near San Francisco Airport
(AP) San Francisco police shot a man who stole a vehicle and attempted to carjack another near San Francisco worldwide Airport, authorities said. Suhr says the suspect is at a hospital in serious but stable condition.
The suspect then allegedly emerged from the bushes and rushed at police.
The suspect was then spotted by a motorcycle officer who ordered him to put down a backpack he was carrying.
Suhr says the suspect then comes at one of the officers ordering him to stop. After bailing from the wrecked auto, the man continued down San Bruno Avenue where he was approached by a responding SFPD officer. “The suspect continues to come at the officer”. Police fired one shot that missed the suspect, since the suspect was not cooperating with officials.
The officer involved was uninjured in the shooting and will be placed on paid leave while the investigation is ongoing as per department’s police, Suhr said.
