Aligarh Trailer Out Now: Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao
National award winning director Hansal Mehta has wooed worldwide film lovers with his sensitive film Aligarh. The trailer strikes an emotional chord with audience. Portraying the character of the emotionally vulnerable professor who faces severe criticism, Manoj Bajpayee is back with yet another wonderful performance whereas “Kai Po Che” actor Rajkummar Rao plays a journalist who unravels his real world.
The story of the film is based on a real-life incident in 2010 of Aligarh Muslim University professor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras. The film depicts the unlikely friendship between the two, a relationship that will change both of them forever.
Recalling the “Aligarh” journey so far, Mehta said, “Film is a powerful medium & the story of “Aligarh” needs to be told”.
The movie “Aligarh” was screened in the Busan International Film Festival 2015 and it also careened at the very prestigious BFI London Film Festival in the previous year.
The teaser for Hansal Mehta’s film Aligarh can now be shown attached to only adult films in theatres and during restricted hours on television. Now, we really can’t wait to watch the film.
Regarding playing role of a homosexual man Manoj Bajpayee stated to media that, “We wanted to make a great film out of it. And for a second thought that we are making a film on homosexuality”.
Producer Sunil Lulla of Eros International said, “Aligarh is a special and significant film that resonates with present times”.
After garnering positive response at various film festivals, “Aligarh” has been one of the most awaited film of the year and it’s now ready to hit the minds of the people on February 26.
