Slender Man Will Not Be on Season 6 of ‘American Horror Story’
The Slender Man internet phenomenon was originally rumored to be the theme for Season 6 of the popular FX anthology series American Horror Story, but that rumor has been shot down.
According to US Weekly’s insider, the AHS writers found a script they really liked and are now attempting to purchase it for use on the show. “Then they’re going to figure out the cast from there”, said the source.
Slender Man or Slenderman is a mystical character born from an Internet meme created on the Something Awful forums in 2009.
Speaking to Us Weekly, the Ryan Murphy series could be looking to tell a story based on Slender Man, the mysterious child abductor who became an internet sensation a number of years ago.
“American Horror Story” has tackled dozens of skin-crawling events that have occurred throughout American history, from the mysterious and brutal death of The Black Dahlia to the gruesome Salem Witch Trials. From season two’s Asylum to season five’s Hotel, we’re not often spot-on, but it’s always fun to wonder. You remember that nasty little baby that murdered Connie Britton from within, right? Eric Knudsen owns the rights to the character, which means that Murphy will have to work out usage issues surrounding the titular character. They also claimed that Slender Man had threatened their families. According a source, the new season will be announced sometime in March and it’s an idea that has been hinted about in previous seasons.
“Lady Gaga is so brilliant in AHS Season 5 that yesterday I officially asked her to join Season 6”. Gaga is fresh off a Golden Globe nomination and win for Best Actress in a Limited TV Series for her role as a vampire countess in the series’ fifth season.
