Troy baby named ‘Gerber Baby of 2016’

Meet 7-month-old Isla of Troy, Gerber’s 2015 Baby of the Year, announced today. He and his wife Rachael could not believe their youngest won the Gerber baby competition.

Isla’s pictures will be featured on Gerber’s social media accounts all year long, and she has the option to appear in more advertisements. Gerber has named Isla the victor of its 6th annual baby photo search.

There’s a new cutie in town and her name is Isla!

Baby Isla is from Troy.

The annual Gerber Baby Photo Search was held online at Gerber.com/photosearch, where parents and guardians were invited to enter a photo of their child.

“We don’t have any immediate plans to get her into modeling, but who knows”, her parents told CNN. She’ll also receive $50,000 in prize money, which her parents will put towards paying off some debts, saving for their kids’ future savings (Isla has an older sister, Nora), and charitable causes. Isla was selected by a panel of judges out of 170,300 applicants.

Since the contest started six years ago, Gerber has awarded seven other tiny tots the crown, including a set of twins in 2013.

“While we received so many incredible entries, the judges all fell in love with Isla’s cheeky smile and awesome hair”.

There’s a new Gerber baby on the block! Every year, the judges gather thousands of photos of babies from birth to 48 months to look for the Gerber baby who will represent the leading baby food brand.

“We’re very excited to join the Gerber family”, said Rachael.
