Rihanna has released ‘Anti’ in its entirety
R&B superstar Rihanna has released a single featuring leading rapper Drake – the first song off her long-awaited and apparently delayed new album. The song is Rihanna’s third collaboration with Drake, following “What’s My Name” from her 2010 album “Loud” and the title track for Drake’s 2012 album “Take Care”.
Updated: 10 p.m. EST: Not wanting to close the barn door after the horse has fled, Tidal has now officially re- (rih-?) released the album.
Rihanna co-owns Tidal, which has struggled to match its competitors, along with Madonna, Beyonce, Usher and other acts. The service is also making a limited number of complimentary download codes available to subscribers and non-subscribers alike, all of which come with a 60-day free Tidal trial.
That would explain why she called Work the album’s first single when she announced its release on Thursday.
The “We Found Love” hitmaker surprised fans when she dropped the hotly-anticipated LP as a gift to her “Navy”, a collective term for her loyal supporters. It is presumably because of this leak that “Anti” was immediately made available to stream on Tidal. Then a deluxe album with three bonus tracks will be out January 29th.
Those songs, coupled with Rihanna’s consistent release schedule in the past, had listeners thinking an album was imminent.
The album was a long wait for fans, who are use to Rihanna’s steady flow of new music.
The Barbadian singer will go on a world tour next month, with the first stop in San Diego.
The album features 13 tracks, with guest appearances from artists including Drake, SZA, The-Dream, Travis Scott and Timbaland. You can’t have a Rihanna album without a weed anthem.
Another single “Bitch Better Have My Money” was released last summer giving way to speculations that it will be featured in ANTI.
