Top Clinton Ally Slams Sanders for ‘Significant Slight’ with Too-White Ad
The Washington Free Beacon’s Lachlan Markay said Friday that the Hillary Clinton campaign is getting close to “panic mode” as recent polls show 2016 Democratic nomination challenger Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) leading Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire.
The latest New York Times/CBS News national poll shows Sanders gaining on Clinton, with 41 percent of Democratic primary voters compared with Clinton’s 48 percent.
Clinton says she supports a “no-fly zone” over rebel-controlled northern Syria, something Sanders and President Obama oppose.
They also believe the former secretary of state would have the best chance of defeating the Republican nominee this November with Clinton’s 60 percent to Sanders’ 27 percent. The event was all about winning over that chunk of potential supporters in Iowa’s February 1 caucuses – particularly as Sanders leads her by a 51 percent to 43 percent margin, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.
“Now, Sen. Sanders doesn’t talk very much about foreign policy”.
Many Iowa Democrats are still deciding who they’ll caucus for, and some came to Simpson to get a better feel for Clinton.
Brock told the AP that he thought Sanders’ new “America” ad, which uses Simon and Garfunkel’s song of the same name in lieu of spoken words, was focused on white voters.
Sanders is a self-described Democratic Socialist.
Clinton’s pivot to foreign policy may appear to be a smart move – after all, it should be her strongest issue. Clinton said that she instead wants to strengthen the Affordable Care Act. “I care about making a real difference in your life and that gets to the choice you have to make in this caucus”.
“If we do well in both of those states, I think, my friends, we are looking at one of the great political upsets in the modern history of the U.S.”, he said.
The poll found that a small number of voters who said they were likely to vote in the Democratic primary could be motivated to switch to the Republican ballot. Earlier Thursday, the campaign released a Web video knocking Sanders for his answer, and her top aides are expected to hold a conference call with reporters on the topic on Thursday afternoon.
Rather than stressing anger over certain issues, Clinton says she’s searching for answers.
Sanders has responded to his promising polls by arguing that the “inevitable candidate ain’t so inevitable today”.
