Mariah Carey wants ‘beautiful but humble’ wedding

Mariah Carey and fiance James Packer made their first public appearance as an engaged couple on Thursday, January 28, at the G’Day USA event at Los Angeles hotspot Vibiana.

Mariah Carey is breaking her silence following her engagement to Australian billionaire James Packer. While doing press for her upcoming global tour, she showed off her jaw dropping $10 million stone to interviewers and noted that “It’s a nice chunk”.

“I’m feeling fantastic, better than ever”, Carey, 45, gushed. Naturally, the pop star had no qualms about putting her 35-carat diamond ring on full display.

The ring, designed by jeweler Wilfredo Rosado, who has known Carey for more than two decades, is reportedly bigger than Kim Kardashian and Beyonce’s engagement baubles combined.

The Grammy winning singer told E! Carey kept her look fairly simple, donning straight hair and natural-looking makeup, but her ring is anything but low key. Carey was married to actor and comedian Nick Cannon from 2008-2014, with whom she shares 4-year-old fraternal twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

She said: “I’m just an entertainer but you know I’m a fan of Hillary Clinton and, of course, I would love to see a woman president”.

Describing her fiancé Carey said he’s, “the guy people go to even if they are barely friends with him, and they look to him to get them through any situation”. She said: “We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that”. “They have a connection that is unparalleled; it’s been a very handsome experience for them both”.

Mariah is set to return to Las Vegas for the third leg of her residency, #1 To Infinity, on February 2nd at Caesars Palace. It’s a great time in my life.
