Real Madrid closes in on $1.5 billion deal
Real Madrid is closing in on a new kit deal with Adidas which will be worth $1.5 billion.
It’s clear that Real Madrid’s numbers when it comes to selling kits have to be good enough for Adidas to want that kind of deal done, as others big teams like Bayern Munich earn €80 million.
Real are on the brink of signing a 10-year, £106 million-per-season contract with Adidas, which would dwarf the one signed with Manchester United in 2014. Perez says that he has excepted that outcome as personal failure and wishes to make amends by plotting a Luis Figo-style swoop for the attacker.
Marca reports that now Los Blancos are ready to renew that deal to regain top spot with a new £107m a season deal, three times the value of the current agreement and £32m ahead of the Manchester United’s.
The two parties thrashed out a ten-year renewal and, if Marca’s €140m figure is correct, then this agreement is as big as Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona’s kit deals combined.
The Spanish club is close to signing a renewed 10-year deal with Adidas that will be worth $150 million per season.
