Israeli military: Palestinian gunmen who wounded 3 shot dead
Earlier on Sunday, the police said they have arrested three Palestinian teen suspects who allegedly stabbed and lightly wounded a 17-year-old Israeli near East Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate. Palestinian reports named him as Amjad Sakari, 35, and said he was a member of the Palestinian Authority security forces who was working as a bodyguard for the Ramallah district attorney. One victim was reported to be in serious condition, with a gunshot wound to the upper body; a second in moderate to serious condition, with a gunshot wound to a limb; and a third in light condition, also with a gunshot wound in a limb.
“Forces at the scene responded to the attack and shot the assailant, resulting in his death”.
The shooting took place at a military checkpoint between Beit El, a Jewish community located in the Binyamin Region of Samaria, and Ramallah, the de facto capital of the Palestinian Authority.
Moments before the attack, Muamar posted a selfie on his Facebook page where he said the Shuhada (traditional Muslim saying before death) as well as a post where he stated that he “doesn’t see anything worth living for as long as the occupation kills our brothers and sisters”.
Palestinians killed 26 people on the Israeli side and wounded dozens more since mid-September, mostly in stabbings, shootings and vehicular assaults.
A wave of Palestinian knife, gun and car-ramming attacks erupted in October.
Saturday’s violence is the latest in four months of near-daily Palestinian attacks on civilians and soldiers.
Thirty Israelis and foreigners have been killed over the same period.
