Rihanna to Release ‘ANTI’ This Week, Drops “Work” Single with Drake
Rihanna has called her long-awaited new album “Anti” and the name is fitting. Mere hours after the first single off Rihanna’s hotly anticipated new album dropped, the whole album has leaked.
According to Billboard, Rihanna inked a deal with bosses at Tidal to exclusively release the record through their site. The Tidal service will also offer limited download opportunities with codes for subscribers as well as non-subscribers.
Rihanna earlier Wednesday put out a first single from Anti that features chart-topping rapper Drake.
The Telegraph described the album as “Rihanna without hits”, adding, “This, for better or worse, is clearly the music Rihanna likes: leftfield, stoned and odd”.
Rihanna next takes off on the Anti World Tour, now scheduled for 69 dates across North America and Europe. Also expected to appear on ANTI are Rihanna’s previously released singles “FourFive Seconds,”Bitch Better Have My Money” and “American Oxygen”.
“Work” has a winning hook and is definitely the catchiest track released so far from her forthcoming album, “ANTI”. As reported previous year, the album was executive produced by Kanye West (whose own new album has quite the saga surrounding it this week as well). Fans have patiently waited to hear her latest track “Anti” with the same excitement as they did in 2012.
“Work“, featuring RiRi’s frequent collaborator and one-time boo, was released on Tidal this morning, surrounding rumors that the full album would debut sometime before Friday.
The two-month delay between the launch of the Samsung website and the album triggered speculation among fans who wondered if there were disagreements behind the scenes.
