Vanessa Hudgens Dedicates Her Grease
The actress tweeted on Sunday that her father, Greg, had died the night before and thanked those who kept him in their prayers.
The 27-year-old actress made the heartbreaking announcement less than eight hours before she performs for the highly anticipated TV musical special, in which she stars as Rizzo.
The star, who is set to star in tonight’s Grease: Live musical, revealed that she will continue with the show.
Vanessa Hudgens took to social media to let her fans know that her father, Greg Hudgens, has passed away on January 31.
Vanessa had revealed his ailment last August, according to E!
Just last week Vanessa mentioned her father’s health on Twitter, asking fans to pray for him. “My dad isn’t doing too well”. In another tweet Sunday afternoon, she shared a photo of the Pink Ladies, writing, “Tonight’s the night!” The news came less than one year after her boyfriend, Arrow star Austin Butler, lost his mother to cancer in September 2014.
Hudgens, who got a little emotional during her speech, said she was dedicating the award to her father and her boyfriend’s mom.
“It really takes a strong person and a strong family to be able to help those out who are going through this”. “It would mean a lot”.
