Pak to complete Pathankot probe soon, report to be out: Sharif
Replying a question, the prime minister said that the matters between Pakistan and India were moving in the right direction.
Following the attacks, Indian and Pakistani governments postponed scheduled diplomatic talks till the end of January. “The investigation team is probing the matter and its findings will be made public”, Sanaullah told reporters.
India has maintained that they have provided several proofs to Pakistan, including call records, which reveal the hand of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar in the Pathankot terror attacks.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Saturday said the world appreciated the economic gains achieved by his government in the shortest period of time.
Prime Minister Sharif had formed the six-member investigation team headed by Additional Inspector General of Punjab’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Rai Tahir in the second week of January to probe the Indian government’s assertion that JeM was behind the Pathankot attack.
India has given “specific and actionable information” to Pakistan soon after the Pathankot attack reportedly carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists on the intervening night of January 1 and 2 that killed seven Indian soldiers. He said that the development of shipping lines between the two countries holds a lot of importance and efforts should be made for the goal.
The Prime Minister said “I am not saying it, but the people in the world acknowledge it. The economic indicators of the country are showing very positive trends”.
He cited visit to Indian Prime Minister Narinder Modi to his Jati Umra residence near Lahore on way to New Delhi from Afghanistan on December 25 and earlier participation of the Indian External Affair Minster Sushman Swaraj in the Heart of Asia Conference as steps towards better relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister said Pakistan will extend all possible help to neighbouring countries against terrorism.
He said that the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the backbone of terrorists who have resorted to targeting soft targets out of sheer frustration, but we will not let their evil agenda to succeed.
The Prime Minister said that the trickle-down effects of his government economic policies could be witnessed in slashing of prices of petroleum and other basic daily-use commodities.
