Adele Wants Donald Trump To Stop Using Her Music At Campaign Rallies
Trump reportedly attended Adele’s concert at Radio City Music Hall last November and since played two of the British singer’s hits during events.
But when Donald Trump started using some of her songs at his rallies some began to wonder if she was giving him permission to do so.
“Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning”, an Adele spokesperson said in a statement to CNN.
It’s not the first time the Trump campaign’s taste in tunes has appeared to clash with musical artists.
Trump also used REM’s It’s the End of the World.
“Steven Tyler got more publicity on his song request than he’s gotten in 10 years”.
During an OH rally, Trump used Adele’s Oscar-winning song “Skyfall”.
After Trump launched his presidential bid in June by playing the 1989 hit, “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World”, Neil Young’s manager declared the move was “not authorized” by the musician.
Fans expressed their disdain on Twitter, with one writing she was “offended on Adele’s behalf”, while another questioned: “Does @Adele know that Donald Trump plays her songs at his rallies?”
However, Trump is actually thought to be quite the Adele fan, with reports even claiming he was in the crowd when she performed at New York’s Madison Square Garden while promoting her “21” album.
