Whom to punish if Rama exiled Sita, court asks
The petitioner said, “I filed this case because I want justice for Sita who belongs to Mithila.”Singh alleged that “Ram had banished Devi Sita to a life in exile in a forest without any suitable justification for doing so”. If Sita didn’t get justice in treta yug, how will women get women get justice in Kalyug?”
Chandan questioned Ram saying what was the fault of Sita when she was abducted by Ravana.
On Monday, the court heard the case and asked the petitioner who to punish in such an incident and also wondered why no date of abuse was filed. According to complainant Singh, it qualifies as maltreatment of women and hence shows the Hindu cultural hero in poor light. “How can a man become so cruel to his wife that he sends he off to live in a forest”, said Singh in his complaint. Despite having had to undergo an agnipariksha, the complainant is deeply disturbed that Sita along with her sons Luv and Kush were exiled to the jungle.
Singh further told the website – “Few days back I was present in the court when judge was hearing a domestic violence case”.
“Sita, who was a devoted wife, always fulfilled her duty in good and bad times with her husband”. How could such a crime be committed against her?
He also claimed that the intention of the complaint was not to hurt anybody’s religious sentiment.
