Chelsea Striker Bamford Joins Norwich On Loan
The deal for 22-year-old Bamford comes as Chinese side Jiangsu Suning show an interest in signing Chelsea’s Radamel Falcao, after signing Ramires.
Norwich City are closing in on the permanent signing of highly-rated Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford, according to reports.
Canaries manager Alex Neil added: “Patrick is a player who excelled last season and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring him in”.
Bamford returned to Stamford Bridge in early January after a loan spell at Crystal Palace he described as “terrible”, and will now ply his trade at Carrow Road for the remainder of 2015-2016.
Last season Bamford spent the entire season on loan with Middlesbrough and was a huge hit at the Riverside Stadium – leaving as there top scorer for the season with 17 goals in 38 league games. “We try to build him up as soon as possible”.
“I like to think people come into training and see it (the addition of players) as a challenge – the existing players will need to up their game and hopefully it inspires everyone”.
“It’s important to have the right mentality, we expect a tough game”, he told Spurs’ official website.
“I’m sure we’re ready to compete. They have a very good team”.
Pochettino will not take Norwich for granted, despite the Canaries’ capitulation against Liverpool.
Tottenham’s Dele Alli is expected to return to the starting line-up.
