The Last Goodbye: Heartbroken Celine Puts On Brave Face At Husband’s Funeral
As we previously reported, hundreds of mourners flocked to the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal to pay respects to the All By Myself singer’s husband Rene Angélil following his death.
Celine Dion’s three children – Rene-Charles, Eddy and Nelson – are grieving the loss of their father, Rene Angelil, during this hard time as she tries to stay strong for them.
Angelil died of cancer last week, just days before Dion also lost her brother to the disease.

The archbishop of Montreal Christian Lepine was to preside over the funeral at the imposing Notre-Dame Basilica in the heart of the city’s historic district.
Billboard reported of a statement published on Dion’s website on Thursday announcing the cancellation of her January 16 and 17 concerts at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.
The ceremony began at 3:20 p.m. with a taped rendition of Dion’s version of the appropriately named “Trois heures vingt”, which was part of a service meticulously planned by Angelil. “I can not tell you right now that I’m going to work”.
Rene-Charles eulogized his father in French and English, saying he was lucky to have been born into such a loving family. You left me now with enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers.
Among the dignitaries present are Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, Heritage Minister Melanie Joly, Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre, former prime minister Brian Mulroney, Premier Philippe Couillard and NDP Leader Tom Mulcair. The couple married in 1994. The note said that Dion considers her career to be Angelil’s masterpiece, and that she must continue without him, for him.
“Celine, in her category, is the biggest of her time”, he added.
