Apple is working on long range wireless charging, according to report
It’s never too early to start speculating about the new iPhone, and rumor has it that Apple could start integrating wireless charging into new iPhones as early as 2017.
Are you ready to experience wireless charging in your life with the iPhone, or do you believe that Apple are bringing it to the table far too late?
This could mean utilising technology it’s developed itself, rather than relying on current wireless charging solutions. The company is now accessing the similar technique called induction as in order to charge the Apple Watch.
Apple is reportedly working on a wireless charging system for the iPhone, but instead of the now available inductive systems where you set a device on a special plate, the company is looking at sending power wirelessly when our smartphones are in range of a charging point. It remains unclear how Apple is trying to counter the issue without affecting charging time of devices.
According to a report in the Indian Express, Apple is trying to set up a factory to rebuild and sell its refurbished iPhones coming from China, in the country. And it’s true the technology hasn’t been quite up to scratch yet and it doesn’t always work as much as well as we’d like it to.
Though not revolutionary, the technology could give Apple an extra edge to help it stay competitive with rivals like Samsung that have already released devices with wireless charging capabilities. Another patent highlighted aluminum phone casings that allowed radio waves to pass through, which could be used for wireless charging.
Wireless charging would allow consumers to charge their phone without having to plug it in, simply by placing it near a wireless charging station.
