Today Last Day to Register to Vote in Texas
It is an open primary for Texas, so voters here won’t have to select a party when registering. Alicia Pierce, communications director for the Texas Secretary of State, says registration is fairly simple.
You can register to vote at the Elections Administrators office located in the Lamar County Services Building at 231 Lamar Avenue in downtown Paris.
“When you register to vote you’ll receive a letter from us that states where your voting precinct is, and you would go there on Election Day”.

In attempt to simplify the process for voters that mail in their application; applications are postage-paid by the State of Texas. Friday in Oklahoma and Saturday in Mississippi.
Be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months).
“However, we do ask you for the last four digits of your Social Security number or your driver’s license number or personal ID number”, Pierce adds. Here’s how to get registered: Applications must be hand-delivered to county elections offices by the close of business or postmarked and mailed Monday.
Primaries are for the political parties to nominate candidates to be on the fall ballot.
