Just hours after revealing that her father had died from cancer, actress Vanessa Hudgens took to the stage to perform as Betty Rizzo on Fox’s highly-anticipated Grease: Live on Sunday night.
But to watch it on TV was to see a musical that might have been filmed in advance, so spectacular were the settings, costumes and performances. The reviews from viewers, critics and fellow actors were unanimous: Hudgens was phenomenal.
Her dedication to the show impressed many on Twitter, with many big-name stars paying tribute to her and her co-stars including Julianne Hough, Carly Rae Jepsen, Joe Jonas and Mario Lopez.
Hudgens also received an outpouring of support from costars and fans who were astounded by her performance and professionalism. The actress dedicated her performance in the star-studded musical to her “daddy” before wowing fans with her singing and dancing skills.
