Bright college teens held in death of ‘awesome little girl’
Two Virginia Tech students made their first appearance in court Monday, in connection with the death of 13-year-old Nicole Lovell of Blacksburg, whose body was found in Surry County, North Carolina this weekend. Her body was found near the Virginia-North Carolina border.
Eisenhauer is charged with first degree murder and abduction of 13-year old Nicole Lovell.
One day after Eisenhauer’s arrest, a second Virginia Tech student, Natalie Keepers, was arrested and charged with disposing of Lovell’s body.
Their appearance Monday was in Montgomery County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.
Their lawyers have declined to comment. Boxes were marked to indicate no firearm was used and that neither suspect had a criminal record.
David Eisenhauer spent 9 years at Riverside Christian Academy here in Yakima and administrators tell us they are shocked to hear the allegations against their former student.
“The serious charges against Eisenhauer came as a shock to James LeMon, principal of Wilde Lake High School, where Eisenhauer graduated in 2015 before enrolling at Virginia Tech to study engineering and run for the Hokies track team”.
Nineteen-year-old Natalie Keepers entered the court wearing an orange jumpsuit with handcuffs and shackles.
The state said the plan to try to ensure that drinking water no longer is tainted with lead includes residential water testing, school testing, food service and restaurant provider testing, blood testing and overall testing of Flint’s water distribution system.
Eisenhauer was as a standout track and field athlete in high school, who was named Boys Indoor Track Performer of the Year by The Baltimore Sun in March. He was charged with murder once the girl’s remains were found.
“God got her through all that, and she fought through all that, and he took her life”, she said.
Police did not say how Eisenhauer and Lovell knew each other, but said they “were acquainted” prior to her disappearance. Her bio says she is “dating Jacob”, though it’s unclear whom she is referring to.
A Virginia State Police spokesowman said divers were once again searching a pond on Virginia Tech’s campus Monday, looking for evidence in the case. “She was telling me that girls were saying she was fat and talking about her scars from her transplant”.
Lovell’s mother, Tammy Weeks, told The Washington Post her daughter had survived a liver transplant, MRSA and lymphoma when she was 5.
Nicole’s mother said she was heartbroken that he girl who had endured such hardship would end up being preyed upon by the suspect.
Davy Draper, a close family friend, called Nicole an energetic and outspoken girl who got along with everyone.
At the time of Nicole Lovell’s initial disappearance, the girl had purposefully sought to leave the family home, having climbed out of her window, whilst putting a dresser in front of her bedroom door.
Eisenhauer, a freshman engineering major, did not tell investigators where Lovell’s body was, Blacksburg police chief Anthony Wilson said. Little did the volunteer drone operators know that two students from their own engineering department were allegedly involved in her murder. “She was an angel here on Earth and she’s an angel now”, Mr. Draper told The Associated Press on Sunday.
Eisenhauer’s parents could not be reached for comment. A message left at Keepers’ home in Laurel, Maryland, was not returned.
