New TV Spot For Disney’s Alice Through The Looking Glass
There are matters that can not be neglected. And in what comes as a treat for Alan Rickman fans, the teaser features the voice of the late British actor. Listen to the wonderful actor, and watch new footage from the Alice in Wonderland sequel. Rhys Ifans and Sacha Baron Cohen joined the cast as the Mad Hatter’s Father and Time, respectively.
“You’ve been gone too long, Alice”, Rickman narrated in the teaser, as Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is shown coming across numerous surprises on her quest to save the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).
The late Rickman voiced the Blue Caterpillar before his passing and can be heard telling Alice to hurry up throughout the trailer. Director Tim Burton steps back into simply a producer role on the follow-up, which sees The Muppets helmer James Bobin stepping into the director’s chair.
The sequel features the return of Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and the voice of Alan Rickman, as well as adding new-to-Wonderland Sacha Baron Cohen as the personification of Time and Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp. In a bid to help her friend Hatter, she is tasked with seeking out the Chronosphere, a device that powers all of time itself. “She has to face this decision of what she’s going to do with the rest of her life”.
“What I’m hoping our (first) movie did was root into this moment of female empowerment”, Todd said, “Hopefully now we’ve made that an even richer experience for people who love Alice”.
