Toddler snowboards like a pro
“We took her snowboarding at Park City [Mountain Resort] for the first time yesterday and she did great!” “You’re a boarder”, the excited dad tells the new athlete.
The couple was impressed with how quickly she picked up walking at 13 months.
The Hendersons bought some boots from Nordstrom and ordered her the smallest board they could find. Even though the little girl has only had experience on her two feet for mere weeks, she didn’t let this stop her from testing out the conditions and holding her own on the bunny slope. And although they do make teeny snowboards for kids, her father Zach Henderson says it wasn’t quite small enough. “First, they started her on the carpet in their home, then they moved to the backyard and finally to the snow-covered slopes.” So.
Sloan knows she’s good. But for one Utah toddler, it seems like she was just born with it. Zach drags Sloan’s snowboard around using a rope, so she can practice her balance.
