Will you ‘Like’ new Facebook icons?
While there is a “sad” and “angry” option there won’t be a “dislike” button as Mark Zuckerberg has previously said he conveys too much negativity.
The social network’s 1.5bn users will soon be able to respond to posts with “love”, “haha”, “wow”, “sad” and “angry” buttons, The Guardian reports.
Facebook has revealed that Reactions will be launching around the world “in the next few weeks”.
The new emoji-charged alternative to Facebook’s Like button is slated to be launched worldwide next week, the tech firm said on 27 January.
Thumbs up… the traditional “like” button will still be in force.
Aside from revolutionizing social networking, Facebook also introduced a very iconic online media symbol that many users are familiar with – the Like button. That’s primarily because the Like button is a central component in how Facebook operates.
But it seems that there is still no progress on the “Dislike” button. This means Facebook can deliver more targeted ads to users based on their reactions to different posts.
There are no fixed dates on the rollout, for the United Kingdom or any other territory, but get set for the reaction on Facebook itself to be mixed. Facebook now has 1.44bn monthly active mobile users; 934m daily active mobile users; and 823m people who ONLY use Facebook on mobile. However, to view the new emojis, you need to simply hold down on the Like button and the new range of Reactions will appear. Speculation says users will be able to express love, laughter, happiness, shock, sadness and anger.
Do you know the net worth of Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg?
Reactions debuted as part of a small pilot program in Ireland and Spain, before trickling out to Chile, Portugal, the Philippines and Colombia, last year.
