Carson said his wife Candy arrived at the precinct to learn that a Cruz supporter was “disseminating” the misinformation and was asked to set straight the record.

Carson claims Cruz staffers should be fired for telling Carson supporters, via email, social media and at caucus sites, to vote for Cruz because Carson was planning to end his presidential bid.

Carson immediately accused opponents of playing “dirty tricks”.

“Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying that Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and SC, our campaign updated grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story”, Cruz said in a statement to CNN.

Carson was running fourth behind Donald Trump, Sen.
