‘Sticker kid’ is the real victor in Iowa
As former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered her victory speech Monday night following the Iowa caucuses, an 18-year-old Drake University student whose face was adorned with Clinton stickers became the focus of attention.
Peter Clinkscales had a seat nearly directly behind back of Clinton’s head while she spoke, giving spectators a clear view of his goofy, stickered face.
Clinkscales explains that he and his friend originally wanted to play saxophones during the rally but were told instruments were not allowed inside.
Even though he donned the free Clinton stickers and laid claim to his moment of fame, Clinkscales said he’s still undecided on who he’ll vote for in the presidential election.
Sticker Kid will make America great again..
But “apparently that’s a security risk”, so he went with the Clinton stickers. “I was just excited to be in the backstage area…it was nice”.
“I saw that a presidential candidate was going to be at my university and I thought that i should go see that presidential candidate at my university”, Clinkscales told Mashable.
“I couldn’t hear much and I had stickers on my face and I was preoccupied”, he said.
Naturally, Sticker Boy’s puzzling routine was seized upon as a moment of levity in the race for the ever-tightening race for the presidential nomination, in which Clinton and Bernie Sanders are now neck and neck.
