Man charged over murder of strangled doctor’s daughter
The court appearance came after police revealed India – who disappeared following a night out with friends in Northampton – died of “pressure to the neck”.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder by police investigating the disappearance of a 20-year-old woman in Northampton.
The suspect, who is just over 5ft (1.5m) tall and was wearing slip-on shoes, a grey top and jogging bottoms, spoke only to confirm he understood he was accused of murder, the Daily Mail reported.
He was ordered to appear before a crown court judge via a prison videolink on Thursday.

Mr Toone said all the pupils and staff at the school, which only has about 40 pupils in each year group, had been left devastated by India’s death.
For her studies she worked with children and the elderly, winning praise from her supervisors for her teamwork, initiative and sensitivity.
Police are still trying to establish Miss Chipchase’s movements on the night she went missing. Stanley Road, where her body was found, is less than a mile away.
Her colleagues have raised more than £3,000 to help her family.
