Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson expects “big things” from Adam Lallana this
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson believes the Reds will get the best out of midfielder Adam Lallana this season.
Lallana suffered a number of injuries, both in pre-season and during his maiden campaign as a Red, but has come through pre-season well ahead of the 2015/16 season.
“It was hard for Adam”, Henderson told LFCTV.
“We are working on it in pre-season and obviously try different things but it’s been freshened up as well with the new staff and a few new players”.
“I think that’s really freshened us up and like I say everything is looking positive so far, but we’ve got to keep going, keep working hard and pushing ourselves to the limits then come the first game of the season we will be raring to go”, he added.
We have to hope it doesn’t take too long for the new arrivals to gel with last season’s squad though, knowing that a strong start is key to our chances of a top four finish this campaign.
Lallana faces high quality competition for games at Liverpool this season with the likes of Lazar Markovic, Jordon Ibe, Philippe Coutinho and new signing Roberto Firmino also vying for those attacking midfield spots. And Henderson has revealed how shocked he was at just how good the Englishman is with both feet on the ball in their first worldwide training session – a talent that should come in handy next season.
But Henderson is confident his club and country teammate is up to the challenge, with Liverpool having a lot of work to do to recover from last season’s disappointing campaign. The talkative trend continued as he discussed what Liverpool’s new signings have done for the team as well as his general goals for next season.
What are your expectations of Lallana this season?
