‘I’m not electing a pastor in chief’ — How Iowa’s evangelicals are deciding

Yes ladies and gentlemen, Glenn Beck is Ted Cruz’s ace in the sleeve – a crackpot conspiracy theorist more deranged than Cruz himself, and man so close to the edge that he is about to leave America for Israel because he believes End-of-Days is near.

“We’re going to work with our hospitals”, he said.

“It was at this hour that Americans saw that it (their country) was being lost”, Beck continued. Iowa, they chose Rick Santorum really on the grounds of ideological purity, credibility among evangelicals.

Cruz’s allies also took snipes at two of his main rivals in Iowa: Donald Trump and Marco Rubio. Ted Cruz is a “total liar” for labeling him an advocate of expanded Obamacare or universal national health care along the lines being touted by democratic socialist Sen.

Analysts agree that Trump’s success in Iowa could depend on changing the caucus electorate in size and shape, expanding turnout while scrambling its ideological makeup.

When the candidate came onstage, he quickly disabused the crowd of Beck’s arguments that Cruz was running on a message of inclusion.

Cruz is a successful manifestation of what the liberty movement has tried to do for decades: produce a candidate within the Republican Party who can take the principles of the Constitution and free markets all the way to the White House. The most recent polls from CNN and ABC indicate that, should theocratic right-winger Cruz wind up facing Progressive champion and statesman Bernie Sanders in the general election, Sanders will win by a comfortable margin.

“The third and final thing I want to ask of each of you is that you pray”, Cruz said as he concluded his remarks.

Cruz’s reliance on Beck, Deace, Levin, Hannity and Limbaugh speaks to just how important conservative talk radio can be in a caucus state like Iowa.

Trump claimed that Vander Plaats only endorsed Cruz to spite Trump for not compensating the influential conservative activist’s hotel room and refusing to pay him $100,000 to show up at an event.

Deace said there are only three Republican candidates capable of winning the nomination, alluding to Cruz, Trump and Rubio. “Ted Cruz was willing to use that power to defund Obamacare and he is hated by the DC establishment for fighting the fight that the base wanted”. Not mincing words, Trump referred to Cruz as a “Canadian anchor baby” during a town hall in New Hampshire.

Speaking to NBC’s Today on the morning of the Iowa caucuses Monday, Palin said her support “added some momentum” to Cruz’s campaign and as the senator from Texas, he has gone on to fight for the American people.

No single voice has been a greater boon to that effort than Beck’s. I’ve been saying it for two years in my speeches. The new data shows Trump is willing to invest more of his own wealth, even as he succeeds in the polls. Honestly, I wonder why so many libertarians haven’t at this point in time.
