Political crisis in J&K is due to PDP: Koul

The BJP delegation that met the governor said it needed 8-10 days to complete the government formation process on its part. “The Government of India should initiate Jammu and Kashmir-specific CBMs before the formation of a government in the state”, she told reporters.

“Mufti Sahb used to say I haven’t just joined hands with Modiji but with those crores of Indians who voted for him”, she said.

While remaining evasive on what she told the Governor over government formation, the PDP chief said, “J&K is a different State, there are different challenges”. If there were any shortcomings, he addressed them and delivered to the masses, ” she added.

Mehbooba asserted that “the Centre needs to create an environment to infuse confidence, and unless that happens, we can not move forward”.

Mr. Singh after BJP leaders’ meeting with the Governor said, “We’re in favour of continuing this alliance with the PDP”.

Mehbooba insisted that she was not laying down any fresh conditions before the BJP and is only seeking assurances on the implementation of the common agenda for alliance, sources said.

“She (Mehbooba Mufti) is not someone who jumps to conclusions under pressure”. The assembly started at4 PM and it is the 2nd such assembly in previous twenty-four hours, party sources said.

Mehbooba Mufti made her first official appearance after her father’s death on January 26 – at the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on the occasion of Republic Day. Later Mr. Shah closeted with Prime Minister, Mr. Modi, to discuss the issues. “Before formation of a new Government, I want the Central Government to take tangible confidence building measures for the State”. “It’s not about the BJP and PDP”.

Repeatedly asked about what she wants from the Centre, Mehbooba said there was a need for confidence building measures (CBMs). PDP and BJP combine in and Jammu and Kashmir jointly share this honour in Indian politics. The PDP meeting is scheduled to be held in Srinagar. “If you think the development was slow, then we will make sure that it is speeded up”, the state BJP chief said. However, Akhtar did not spell out whether Mehbooba was elected as the leader of the PDP Legislature Party.

“Mufti Saahb had his own goodwill because of which even if there were shortcomings in the last 10 months he was able to deliver a lot”. The only thing is the need to remove the trust deficit between them.
