Sardar Singh Accused of Sexual Harassment

In a shocking development, Indian hockey captain Sardar Singh has been accused of sexually harassing his long-time girlfriend in a complaint filed at a police station in Ludhiana. “I know her, but I never assaulted her. I am completely focused on Rio Olympics now and does not want to get distracted by such developments”.

“I and Sardar have been together for four years and I am his fiancee…now he is betraying me”, the girl, who is also a hockey player in England, told ETV. Sub-Inspector Surjit Singh Nagra, station house officer of Koom Kalan, confirmed the probe order, and said the police would register a case “after verifying the facts”. “He has harassed me emotionally, physically and mentally”, she said.

“I will speak to my lawyer about the issue”. Sardar was quoted, as saying.

She claims to have even visited Sardar’s family at his native village in Sirsa and alleges that he is now “betraying” her.

Bhogal, in her complaint, alleged that Sardar got her pregnant and the India captain abandoned her after this. “He has been ignoring me and has refused to marry me after that incident. FIR has not been registered as investigation is going on”, he said.

The woman has alleged sexual harassment and filed a written complaint against national hockey captain Sardar Singh.

– Sardar became the highest-paid marquee player in the innaugural Hockey India League Auctions, when Delhi Waveriders bought him for 78,000 Dollars (42.49 Lakh).
