Vodafone to roll out 4G services in Delhi-NCR today
Vodafone’s 4G service has been rolled out in Delhi.
Vodafone has already started offering 4G SIM cards in Delhi-NCR as it gears up to roll out the high speed mobile internet services in the region soon.
To quicken adoption of their new network, the cellular provider is offering a free SIM upgrade to existing customers from their current one, which will be done at select Vodafone outlets. The launch in Delhi and NCR follows the successful launch of Vodafone’s 4G services in Kerala, Karnataka and Kolkata. Users can also check if their smartphone is compatible with 4G on Vodafone website. Vodafone 4G services are available on 4G-enabled handsets, including iPhone, Samsung, Micromax, Microsoft, Lava, Xolo among others.
Vodafone also said that 4G users will get 4G worldwide roaming access in the UK, Romania, Spain, and the Netherlands. $G subscribers will also have access to the Hungama Play entertainment destination with over 6,000 movie titles; as well as to the Vodafone Music platform to with catalogue of over 1.2 million songs.
The cost of Vodafone 4G data packs starts at Rs 11 for 35 MB going up all the way to a 20 GB data pack for Rs 2499.
Vodafone India said data contributes around 25 percent of total revenues in Delhi and NCR. It is highly unlikely that end users will be receiving this ultra high speed when the network is widely available in Delhi and NCR. To cater to the growing volumes of customer usage increasing need for speed, the company invested over Rs 800 crores in FY 16 to expand, modernize and building a more technology and energy efficient network.
