Federal, state, local officials beef up Super Bowl security
The Super Bowl is considered the second-highest threat environment under USA federal guidelines.
In the “Super Bowl Babies” commercial, the National Football League and Seal brought together some of the children conceived the evening following the big game and recreated “Kiss From a Rose”, one of the greatest love songs of all time.
The big game will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA – not actually in San Francisco – but fans who didn’t get tickets can head to the city’s Embarcadero for free activities at “Super Bowl City”.
The Super Bowl will take place on February 7 about 40 miles south of San Francisco.
Total it all up, and the American Gaming Association is predicting that Americans will wager a total of at least $4.2-billion on Super Bowl 50 between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. The US Coast Guard will also create a maritime exclusion zone in the creek around the stadium, officials said. They are also preparing for possible street protests in the area this week.
The Transportation Security Administration is sending “VIPR teams” (visible intermodal prevention and response) that include so-called “behavior detection officers” to watch over crowds, she added, especially at busy locations such as train stations.
“It’s going to be the first Super Bowl where we are having merchandise delivered to seats, having beverages delivered to seats”, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York said.
