Few details came out of Monday’s arraignments.
Eisenhauer and Keepers both have preliminary hearings scheduled for March 28.
He waits for answers wearing a blue ribbon – one of Nicole’s favorite colors- in her honor.
Police found Nicole’s remains in Surry County, N.C., just over the Virginia border.
Now, less than a year later, he is in police custody and faces a first-degree murder charge.
At this point in time, both Eisenhauer and Keepers are being held without bail at the Montgomery County Jail in Virginia.
“…Eisenhauer and Nicole were acquainted prior to her disappearance”. Keepers, 19, allegedly helped Eisenhauer dispose of Lovell’s body, according to police.
Police divers have been searching a pond on the Virginia Tech campus, but authorities would not say what they were looking for.
The girl had been missing since last week.
Blacksburg police Chief Anthony Wilson told The Roanoke Times that Eisenhauer has not confessed to involvement in Lovell’s death and did not give police information that led to the discovery of her body.
“This has been an extremely fast investigation … and we still have a great deal to do as there are multiple interviews to conduct and evidence to collected and analyzed as we reconstruct the timeline of events leading up to Nicole’s tragic death”, Wilson said. Lovell endured a liver transplant, MRSA, and lymphoma when she was 5, the Chicago Tribune reported.
He says, “We want the citizens of Blacksburg and the surrounding area to know that they will see an increase of heavy law enforcement presence in Blacksburg”. “I’m hurt. It’s unbelievable”. Her family members say she apparently ran away just after midnight Wednesday, January 27th.
“God got her through all that, and she fought through all that, and he took her life”, she said.
Lovell posted often about her romantic life on her Facebook page, claiming she went through several relationships over the past two years.
It was not yet known exactly how Eisenhauer and Lovell knew each other, but her mother said police told her they likely connected online. “It was some off-the-wall site I never heard of”, she told the paper.
Monday, the two people police believe are responsible for her what happened to her, made their first court appearance in Virginia.
Weeks said her daughter was a seventh-grader at Blacksburg Middle School. Researchers at the university used drones. “It got so bad I wouldn’t send her”, Weeks said, but the bullying continued on social media. His profile on the school’s sports site was removed after the charges were announced.
Pursuant to the indictment of the track star, Virginia Tech Police Department released a statement saying: The entire Virginia Tech community extends its support to Nichole’s family and friends.
Eisenhauer previously lived in Washington state before moving to Columbia, Maryland, where he attended high school and was named Athlete of the Year, according to The Baltimore Sun.
According to Virginia Tech’s website, Eisenhauer was a freshman engineering major at the school before he was suspended from school over the weekend. A lawyer for Eisenhauer declined to comment, and an attorney for Keepers did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A number listed for Eisenhauer’s parents was busy Sunday.
