Auto Expo: Renault showcases Kwid 1.0 Sce and Kwid Easy-R
The company also showcased two concept cars – Renault KWID Climber and Renault KWID Racer.
The wheel arch extensions are highlighted in electric blue. The Climber is created to be a capable off-roader and have SUV like capabilities. The result is a very distinctive personality which suits all types of adventure. While the carmaker hasn’t revealed much else about the upcoming Renault Kwid AMT and 1.0-litre variants, it did bring in two Renault Kwid-based concepts. It comes in a sporty finish. The C-shaped LED lighting signature and the high-tech treatment of the lights signal that the Renault KWID Racer is clearly in tune with Renault’s new design strategy. The race auto feel is enhanced by the addition of bucket seats with four-point harnesses and there’s also a flat-bottomed steering wheel covered in leather.
The Renault Kwid 1-0 litre looks like a carbon copy of the 800cc model of the Kwid. A variety of aluminum and Alcantara accents have been added and combined with a Titane Black trim to spice things up even further.
Like the Duster AMT, which was unveiled previous year, the AMT tech on board the Kwid too is named Easy-R Gear Box.
Renault’s Senior VP (Corporate Design) Laurens Van Den Acker said Kwid blends an emotional design with the need for reassurance expressed by customers.
We’d assume that a crossover based on the Kwid with similar form but more practical function could easily make it to the market in 2017. The company claims this high-technology engine offers excellent drivability. It has generated unprecedented success in its category and has won the hearts of customers’ and automotive experts alike.
Aside from the two exhibits, Renault also launched the 1.0-liter SCe engine in New Delhi, along with an automated manual gearbox, the Easy-R, both destined for the Kwid model.
