Amazon Will be Opening Up A Drive-Through Grocery Store
No word on if the ordering process would be through Amazon’s main site.
Amazon has not confirmed the reports of a drive-thru grocery store.
The company already has a service called Amazon Fresh, which is a grocery delivery service, and they have another service called Amazon Locker, which allows customers to go and get their orders from a secure location. For starters, delivering fresh, perishable goods to customers is expensive.
Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) is reportedly planning to open a drive-through grocery store in Silicon Valley. Amazon is the likely party responsible for deploying a real estate agent for the project, although the company is not named in the documents. It could also help out potential purchasers who don’t have the time to deal with delivery windows and would instead prefer to just swing by a store and grab groceries on the way home from work.
“Amazon’s entire value proposition is based on this idea of immediacy, and getting items to the shopper as quickly as possible”, said Kantar Retail analyst Nicole Santosuosso in an interview with the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Amazon’s drive-through grocery store will allow consumers to collect items that they have ordered online.
Robert Goodwill, transport minister, reported in March that he experienced fulfilled with the Amazon about staying provided authorization to take a look at the drone assistance in the United kingdom, due to the fact regulations in the US are far too restrictive.
According to the paper’s sources, Amazon (through a subsidiary) has signed paperwork for a retail location in Sunnyvale, CA and plans have already been approved for it to build out an 11,600-square-foot warehouse with eight vehicle stalls for pickups.
