Dog Sneaks Out Of Kennel To Cuddle Crying Puppies After Losing Hers
After watching the video, Mr Aldred explained, his own mother Sandy went to check the dog and found herself being directed to the puppies’ kennel.
A dog broke out of her kennel at a Canadian pet motel and foster care center to comfort and cuddle two new frightened puppies on their first night.
Maggie the dog snuck out of her kennel at Barker’s Pet Motel and Grooming and stayed next to the puppies for the whole night.
But when Maggie was taken to be looked after at the Barkers Pet Motel and Grooming in Canada, she wasn’t quite ready to give up being a mother.
The thoughtful dog, who recently had puppies of her own that were adopted out by a humane society, likely heard Hannah and Kari crying, according to a Facebook post from the motel.
Maggie’s own litter of puppies was recently adopted out, which may have be why her maternal instincts kicked in. “We’ve never really seen it before, where a dog sneaks out to some puppies and is so excited to see them”.
Owner Sandy Aldred told the CBC that Maggie had been left in her crate when she and her family left for dinner.
The love fest didn’t last, however, as Maggie’s owners came to pick her up the next day.
She suspects Maggie wriggled her way out of a small opening of her kennel’s door, made for holding a water dish, after she heard the pups crying.
“She just wanted to get to these puppies, so she pushed her way through, wiggled her way out”, Aldred said.
Once Aldred returned to the kennel, Maggie excitedly greeted her, then brought her back to see the puppies.
She was later given some time with the puppies where they all lay down in a happy ball. Maggie immediately curled up with the little dogs and cuddled with them. “It was pretty flawless”, said Aldred. “It’s just in their nature”, Deanna Thompson of AARCS told ABC News.
Puppies Hannah and Kari are up for adoption.
