Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Announced

Their latest instalment reflects this year’s box office hit Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Although, there will be a season pass with extra content, it’s too early to tell if they will be pulling from past movies or expanded universe material. This is very exciting news for Star Wars fans around the world, and might propel Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens to some impressive sales.

The Force Awakens will be available on all gaming consoles on June 28, but is available for pre-order now.

The game will introduce brand new gameplay mechanics to build, battle and fly through the galaxy plus story arcs exploring the time between Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The title is developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros.

Are you excited for another LEGO Star Wars? Playable characters will include the obvious, such as: Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, BB-8, Kylo Ren, General Hux, Captain Phasma, as well as many surprise characters. Or do you feel its just another brick in the video game wall?

Along with the exclusive stories, which Taylor said will of course have that cheeky LEGO humor, they will also be adapting some of the short stories that have come from the official books and comics that have been adding to the Star Wars story. Although, given the success of The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm likely see the worth in George Lucas’ rhyming and probably won’t be able to resist ripping off The Empire Strikes Back… Is that even possible, I don’t know, but we will soon find out!
