“Every year, fans (coming) to the Super Bowl become more connected and more tech savvy, but this year presents an wonderful opportunity in terms of technology, given Levi’s Stadium’s state-of-the art technology and the connectivity in and around the Silicon Valley”, Michelle McKenna-Doyle, the NFL’s chief information officer, said via email.
The San Francisco 49ers, this year’s host team, have also relocated from Candlestick Park to Levi’s Stadium, located in Santa Clara.
This isn’t your typical selection of hot dogs, chicken fingers, and nachos. Yet, somehow, most of those taxpayers got off lightly compared to their counterparts in cities that did land Super Bowls.
Along with economists Alan Barreca of Tulane and Nicholas Sanders of Cornell University, he looked at county-level statistics from 1974-2009 into Super Bowl – the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL).

Among law enforcement’s fears: attacks against fiber-optic systems, threats from drones, crowds being targeted outside Levi’s Stadium and “lone wolf” attackers, according to an internal memo from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security that was obtained by several news agencies. Local Bay Area law enforcement is getting help from Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response, or VIPR teams. The culprit was about $500,000 spent on speeding up construction work on the Transbay Transit Center so work could be done before Super Bowl road closures kicked in, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Walker may perhaps be responding to statements from elected officials, notably Mayor Ed Lee and Supervisor Scott Wiener, that the homeless would have to “leave” during the Super Bowl and that the tents should be removed.
Super Bowl 50 is being played at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.
“Now they know who does come to games”, Paul said.
But they all also urged the public to stay vigilant, repeating the oft-heard motto “if you see something, say something”.
With a Budweiser on her table guarding a plate of fries and a burger, Helen Mirren will have a frank message for fans during one commercial. “For the large part, [the Super Bowl] is a social event, so you’re going to see people watching in the concourses and chatting, but there are those gaps that we want to fill in with both an entertaining and functional [app]”.
