XUV Aero Coupe to be most expensive from M&M’s stable
The front resembles that of the XUV500 SUV while the rear looks completely reworked. Other elements include floating roofline, flared wheel arches, ORVMs with integrated blinkers, roof-mounted spoiler, and wraparound taillamps. The design of the SUV has been inspired from the SsangYong XIV-Air Adventure concept and 70 percent of its body structure is made of high strength steel. The Italian auto stylist company, Pininfarina has also put in inputs in the designing of the vehicle. The Mahindra XUV500 Aero could be another design study by the company in India but we would more than accept if Mahindra plans to bring such a model out on the roads.
After a thrilling opening day at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi, the second day got off to a thrilling start at the Mahindra & Mahindra pavilion. The E2O Sports has a high output electric motor that develops 105kW (143PS) and 180Nm of torque right from standstill. The range too has been increased to 200km. Since the vehicle is already on test for quite sometime in India, we expect it to be launched sometime later this year. The India-bound SsangYong Tivoli will come in both petrol and diesel engine options.
Mahindra also announced that Ssang Yong and Mahindra will make Tivoli in collaboration for the Indian market. Based on the new shared-compact-platform that will also underpins future Mahindra and Ssangyong models, the compact SUV is expected to be priced in the range of INR 10 lakh to INR 14 lakh.
