‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Lands Empire Cover; Batman, Superman
After reminding you how seriously the characters take themselves in the early part of the trailer mash-up, “The Nightman Cometh” parody kicks in around the:26 mark in the video, with Charlie singing about Nightman over scenes of Ben Affleck as Batman.
Empire Magazine – a well-respected British publication for film and entertainment – has released a very special cover for its upcoming September 2015 issue which is dedicated to one of the greatest rivalries of all time: Batman versus Superman.
“There is just this gravitas to Batman,” said Snyder of his version of the dark knight.
To show the rift between the two, Batman is shown against the backdrop of Gotham City, while Superman is see against the shiny skyline of Metropolis. Some people love him, some people hate him.
In the issue, Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill talk about what to expect in the highly anticipated film. “Others fear him. Is he a tyrant?”
Shortly after reporting their findings, Zack Snyder himself threw fuel onto the fire by posting the following picture to his private Instagram, which was then shared by photographer Clay Enos (the man behind those Batman V Superman costume reveals), with the caption, “Boy Wonder?”
“Superman Returns” wasn’t exactly a success, and even though it did fine for the “Man of Steel” reboot, the sequel got hijacked by Batman, according to Movie Pilot. Cyborg (to be played by actor Ray Fisher), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Green Lantern (not yet cast) aren’t expected to show up.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, and Callan Mulvey. The movie itself will be in theaters on March 25, 2016.
