Brazilian company tells Neymar to come clean over transfer

The federal prosecution service said in a statement the charges related to “tax evasion and forgery”.

Wearing jeans and sunglasses, Neymar seemed relaxed as he arrived at Spain’s National Court in Madrid with his father Neymar da Silva Santos, who was also called to testify.

Neymar is yet to sign a contract extension with the Blaugrana and many experts believe his father is trying to raise his profile and put pressure on the Catalan club by spreading transfer rumours. Fatima Cristina Bonassa said during a five-hour testimony that the footballer was an adult at the time of transfer and knew what he was signing.

At Barcelona, Neymar is one part of one of the world’s most potent football strike forces, alongside Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and Uruguay’s Luis Suarez.

Last week a Sao Paulo judge ordered Neymar and his father to pay almost 460,000 reais (115,000 U.S. dollars) for taxes owed from 2007 and 2008.
