This Super Bowl Ad of NFL Players Styling Daughters’ Hair Is Adorable
If you’re the kind of Cincinnatian who likes the Super Bowl for the commercials AND likes the Pittsburgh Steelers, good news! Williams, Watson and Witten each attempt to create their daughters’ requested hairstyle – twisted pigtails, braided pigtails, a ballerina bun and a princess puff – and hilarity (along with some surprisingly well-done styles!) ensues. “I love it”, declares one, while another says her dad stylist “feels like mommy, but he has bigger hands”.
Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys) and Benjamin Watson (New Orleans Saints) styled their adorable daughters with “Dad Dos” for a video series produced by Pantene.
Williams hilariously suggested that barrettes should come with warning labels to make a father’s life easier.
So the pigtails were just a little lopsided, but that didn’t matter to Grace.
If you can score a touchdown, you can braid some hair. And as most people who grew up a young girl would know, dads aren’t usually the best at doing hair.
Both the Pantene commercial and the NYT article emphasize the importance of dads and daughters spending time together, which based on a (slightly creepy) Hyundai Super Bowl commercial also released Wednesday, we expect will be a trend in 2016’s Super Bowl ads.
More footage of the dads’ hair mishaps is available on Pantene’s YouTube channel.
