Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo: ‘Michael Schumacher condition not good’
The latest news about the health of Michael Schumacher’s is not good, his former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo said on Thursday.
He went on to add that life is odd and that Schumacher just had one accident with Ferrari in his career.
Schumacher continues to be treated at his home in Switzerland following a skiing accident where he hit his head on a rock in 2013.
“I’m always checking up on him, and unfortunately the news isn’t good”, Di Montezemolo is quoted as saying in Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is not clear what has prompted di Montezemolo – who worked closely with Schumacher during his time in Ferrari – to pass comment on his condition now.
Former F1 champion Michael Schumacher. Kehm, though, again vehemently refuted the claims.
“Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many people involved”.
However, Di Montezemolo revealed today that things were not looking good for the seven-time Formula 1 world champion. Former general manager Jean Todt stated in October that Schumacher was “still fighting”, while the technical mastermind of Schumacher’s titles at both Benetton and Ferrari, Ross Brawn, relayed his own experience of visiting his friend. “He was a great driver and we spent some marvelous years together…I have a very lovely relationship with him and I think he deserves a very big round of applause”.
