Melissa McCarthy: I wasn’t invited back to ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival
“Gilmore Girls” revival created quite an excitement among fans but many were quite disappointed after knowing that Melissa McCarthy is not part of the returning cast.
On Twitter, when a fan asked her to “PUH-LEEZ come back to Stars Hollow” (the fictional town where the show is set), she tweeted back on February 2, writing, “Thanks for the invite, but sadly no one asked me or Sookie to come back to Stars Hollow”.
Of all Rory Gilmore’s awful boyfriends-do I need the “terrible” descriptor when it applies to all of them?-Logan is … certainly one (we all know Dean is actually the worst). If she has a spare moment to run over [to the set] – even if for just a cameo – we would be totally game. Television. No release date has been announced yet but it was confirmed that producers have agreed on a four-part revival of the show. One face missing from the revival though will be Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore) who passed away in 2014. “It was a character we knew we could not count on in terms of story, because [Melissa] just simply wouldn’t have that sort of time to carve out for us”, she said. “That show was incredibly well-written and of course the wit and the fast-pace that made Gilmore Girls so unique-it was fun to revisit that”.
