Jeb Bush asks NH audience to clap for him
In the most recent, RealClearPolitics average of polls, Trump is the frontrunner polling at 34%, compared to forth place Bush, who is polling at about 11%.
“If Rubio beats him badly in New Hampshire, Jeb is toast”, Graham, who spent Tuesday campaigning with Bush, told The New York Times.
Those are both lines Bush regularly uses in his campaign speech, but appeared to have greater meaning with his mom in the room. Bush reported cash on hand as of Sunday of $7.6 million.
Another voter, from Meredith, N.H., said she arrived on the fence, but left planning to vote for Bush.
Jeb Bush’s super PAC, Right to Rise, is set to begin airing an ad featuring his brother, former President George W. Bush.
He was especially critical of Trump, saying the billionaire businessman is “a man with deep insecurities”.
Some attendees arrived with their minds made up, while others were open to hearing what Bush had to say. “I know that we’re living in the tyranny of the press where everything has to be done in the next hour or something like that”. “Is there something in their past that would suggest they have the capability of making a tough decision?”
Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, who had already labeled Bush a “low energy” candidate, slapped him with mock sleep-aid commercial posted to Instagram.
Bush said that if elected president, he would work to reform the Department of Veterans Affairs, rebuild the nation’s military forces, eliminate the sequester, and focus on a high-growth strategy to end the nation’s debt.
“Please clap”, the candidate said, looking demoralized.
The crowd laughed – and then, finally, clapped.
