Assam BJP leader threatened on eve of Modi’s visit
Meanwhile, during his visit to Assam’s Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be greeted by a 48-hour (two-day) shutdown – called by various groups demanding Scheduled Tribes status.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday accused the Gandhi family for disruption in the Parliament and alleged that functioning in the Rajya Sabha was totally halted for one family. The gas cracker project was envisaged by the then prime minister Indira Gandhi in 1984 and given shape by Rajiv Gandhi as prime minister in 1985 at the end of the six-year- long anti-foreigners agitation. He will also dedicate to the nation, India’s highest wax producing unit using indigenous technology in Numaligarh Refinery Ltd in the state. These two projects are not only important for Assam but also for the entire country. We have made a decision to complete thousands of projects which got delayed, irrespective of who laid their foundation stones.
The prime minister said that as part of the new development model, strengthening the North East’s railway infrastructure was the first step.
Prime Minister Modi left the national capital today for his three-day visit to Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha during which he is set to inaugurate the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati besides addressing tea workers at Moran.
PM Modi said today that the Congress has neglected the welfare of the state.
Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd’s petrochemical complex is established with an investment of Rs 10,000 crore and has a capacity to produce 2.80 lakh tonnes of polymers per annum.
