LG Gentle is an Android Lollipop flip phone for Korea
It’s doubtful we will see this launch in the US or Europe, but it is interesting to see LG continue to make a modern flip phone and find a market willing to purchase one.
LG states that the flip phone form factor is beneficial to the elderly and those who have trouble pressing buttons on a touch screen because of the large physical keypad.
The LG Gentle is a new Android-powered flip phone that’s been announced by the Life’s Good crew. “When you flip the device open, the 3.2” display (480 x 320) greets your eyes, plus a somewhat familiar Android look. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box and comes in a premium clamshell built that has a textured faux leather covering on front and rear. The processor running the show is listed as a 1.1GHz quad-core chip, which gets a bit of help from 1GB of RAM. With the introduction of LG’s latest, the Gentle, it might be safe to say those days are actually upon us. Not. Even though it comes with only 4GB of internal memory, users will be able to further expand storage up 32GB via microSD card slot.
The smartphone comes with a 3.2-inch display, and boasts a 3-megapixel camera on the back. Apart from 4G LTE, the LG Gentle includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and 3G connectivity options. However, there is no word on its availability in other regions.
