Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky set for another three months out injured
However, the 35-year-old’s comeback didn’t last long as he suffered a thigh injury just 3 minutes after coming off the bench and Wenger suggested earlier this week the injury was a serious one.
After missing for seven months, manager Arsene Wenger had been hoping to have “Little Mozart” back for the title run in, but now the report claims that his injury could be worse than first thought, and shockingly, he may never kick a ball for the club again.
“Rosicky is out for a longer period”, the Frenchman stated at a news conference. It’s a partial rupture. “We don’t know. We are all shocked and, of course, he is the most shocked”.
Welbeck has been training with Arsenal’s first team in recent days as he steps up his rehabilitation and his last appearance for the club came in the 2-1 win over Reading back on 18 April.
“Since the moment I started to warm up on the sidelines it was exceptional”, he said.
“His injury is quite a serious muscle injury”.
Meanwhile, Wenger has confirmed striker Danny Welbeck will make his return to action for the under-21s on Friday. “He has not played for 10 months so we have to be a bit patient with him”. “We have to be patient and hope that it was not his last game”.
He has been plagued by foot and ankle injuries and has only once played more than 25 leagues games in a season.
“We can organise games internally without being official games and I think in the next three weeks he should be available”. He has a good basic fitness but he has to get competitiveness and decision-making.
